Former Ontario Finance and Environment Minister the Hon. Rod Phillips Joins KEWA Financial Inc.’s Board of Directors
Appointment further strengthens KEWA’s world-class governance team as firm grows and continues support of natural resources and energy companies

Franklin, Tennessee/Toronto, Ontario – KEWA Financial Inc. (“KEWA”), a private financial services, insurance, and capital provider that supports natural resources and energy businesses, announced the appointment of the Hon. Rod Phillips, former Ontario Cabinet Minister, to its Board of Directors. KEWA wholly owns Indemnity National Insurance Company (“INIC”), which is rated ‘A’ (Excellent) by AM Best and is licensed in the United States and Canada.
Rod Phillips is Vice Chairman of Canaccord Genuity Corp., a global investment bank. He served as Ontario’s Minister of Finance from 2019 to 2020, following his tenure as Minister of the Environment, Conservation & Parks (2018-19) and later as Minister of Long-Term Care (2021-22). He serves as chair of the board of directors of Toronto Global and Petal Health and is a member of the board of directors of Aecon Group Inc. Prior to his public service, Mr. Phillips was the President and CEO of the Ontario Lottery and Gaming Corporation (OLG) and the health and productivity company Morneau-Shepell (Lifeworks). He previously served as the chair of the board of directors of Postmedia Network Inc. and Canadian chair and member of the global advisory board of AI unicorn Afiniti.
